USAC: Pennzoil 'Night of Champions' Friday at Westin Hotel in Indianapolis

Indiana residents Ryan Newman, Dave Darland, Jason Leffler and Michael Lang will be featured champions at Friday night's USAC Pennzoil "Night of Champions" 44th Annual National Awards Dinner at the Westin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.

Champions of all USAC 1999 racing series will be honored, along with other series participants and special award recipients. Newman, of South Bend, won the Coors Light Silver Bullet title; Darland, of Kokomo, won the Stoops Freightliner Sprint Car championship; Leffler, of Long Beach, Calif but living in Indianapolis, scored a third straight MCI WorldCom National Midget Car championship and Lang, of Indianapolis, won a fifth Indianapolis Speedrome Midget title.

Tickets for the dinner are still available at $75.00 apiece and can be reserved by calling the USAC headquarters at (317) 247-5151. Tables of 10 are available.

In addition to the series performance awards, corporate America will also share the spotlight along with "Rookies of the Year" and "Most Improved Drivers" as well as recipients of the inaugural "Road to Indy" year-end bonuses. Civic and business leaders will join the gathering in the Westin's Grand Ballroom for the event, to be emceed by Bob Jenkins, one of the sport's foremost authorities and spokespersons.
