NASCAR WCUP: RCR Names Hart Director of Communications

WELCOME, N.C.-- Richard Childress Racing Enterprises,
Inc.
(RCR), has hired David Hart to the newly created position of director of
communications.Hart will be responsible for developing and managing RCR's overall media relations program, as well as furthering communications ties with its many sponsors. He will report to Lenny Batycki, vice president of operations, who has handled sponsor and media relations the past four years. The move will allow Batycki and Bill Patterson, executive vice president, to concentrate more on the financial aspects of the business.
"With the growth of our company, the addition of a strong communicator like Hart will add value to our sponsorships and strengthen the RCR brand," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of RCR. "His work with our No. 31 team this past season showed us his skill and savvy for this position. We feel he will be a strong component to our overall program."
A native of California, Hart, 36, has worked in motorsports public relations since 1990. He served as the public relations manager this past season for the Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse Racing NASCAR Winston Cup team fielded by RCR with driver by Mike Skinner. Other experience includes public relations representative for NASCAR's 50th anniversary program (1998), public relations representative and manager for the Western Auto/Parts America motorsports program (1995-97), media relations manager for the National Hot Rod Association (1992-94), and public relations manager for Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. (1990-91).
Hart lives in Troutman, N.C., with his wife, Beth, and children, Josh and Haley.
Richard Childress Racing Enterprises, Inc., has set the standard for modern era stock car racing teams with six NASCAR Winston Cup championships, the inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship and five Union 76 Pit Crew World Championships. Based just south of Winston-Salem in Welcome, N.C., RCR has more than 170 employees and fields the NASCAR Winston Cup teams of seven-time champion and 1998 Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt, and 1997 Winston Cup Rookie-of-the-Year and 1995 Truck Series champion Mike Skinner. In 2000, RCR will also field a two-car NASCAR Busch Series program with drivers Mike Dillon and Kevin Harvick.
