JAX Raceways and Waycross Motor Speedway Open Southeast Motorsports Dirt Racing Series

Jacksonville, FL--The first two events for the newly established Southeast Motorsports Dirt Late Model Series have been scheduled with shows at JAX Raceways (Jacksonville, FL) and Waycross Motor Speedway (Waycross, GA). These events will both open and close the trail of Dirt Late Model racing for the activities surrounding SPEEDWEEKS 2000.

The inaugural event for the Series will be held at JAX Raceways on January 29, 2000. Many of the top drivers both regionally and nationally are expected to be on hand. The one-day program will consist of qualifying, heat races, consolation races and a $5,000 to win 75-lap feature event.

"We are extremely excited about the initial program." states Timmy Carter, President of Southeast Motorsports "There has been a tremendous amount of interest generated and support offered for this effort. I am very pleased with what we have established for the inaugural season. "

The Southeast Motorsports Dirt Racing series will travel to Waycross Motor Speedway for the second of twelve events schedule on the 2000 tour. Closing out the SPEEDWEEKS activities, the familiar South Georgia track will host the Series on February 26, 2000 for another 75-lap event also posting $5,000 to the winner.

The Southeast Motorsports Dirt Racing Series will provide racers and fans with some of the best value in racing entertainment available in the southeast. With all events being single day programs, fans and racers alike can plan to enjoy a complete day of quality auto racing at a very reasonable cost.

The Southeast Motorsports Dirt Racing Series was established to showcase the local and regional talent on a more professional level while allowing the teams to prepare for the opportunity to participate on a more regional basis. As a system feeder to more nationally recognized programs, The Southeast Motorsports Dirt Racing Series will be the starting point for many of the future stars in Dirt Late Model racing.
