Alamo, CA - With the completion of the recent Goodguys
Southwest Nationals, held November 20 & 21 at Westworld in Scottsdale, AZ
the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association reached an important milestone
officially holding it's 300th event! Founded in 1982 by Gary and Marilyn
Meadors the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association continues to gain membership
with official numbers approaching 50,000 Goodguys on an international
level. President Gary Meadors finds it hard to believe that Goodguys has produced 300 events already. "It has been an incredible run," Meadors Said. "It was neat the way it worked out with our 300th event coming at the end of the 20th Century. One thing's for sure," he added, "We've got a lot more events ahead!"
The 2000 Goodguys schedule is packed with 22 events for rod, custom and classic car guys as well as for nostalgia drag racing participants and enthusiasts. The Goodguys Great Lakes Nationals held formerly in Medina, Ohio has been resurrected and the 11th edition of the Great Lakes Nationals will now be held May 19-21 in Berrien Springs, Michigan at the Berrien County Fairgrounds. Another new event for 2000 is the Las Vegas Fuel & Gas Finals, October 28 & 29 (the weekend leading into the SEMA show) at the new Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The event will serve as a spectacular backdrop for the fifth and final stop of the Goodguys/West Coast Series for nostalgia drag racers.
