Skip Barber Racing School announced dates for Three Day Racing Schools at
Virginia International Raceway (VIR) on Mar.31-Apr 2, 1999 as well as
Apr.28-30, 1999.
Set in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains, picturesque VIR once hosted races during the halcyon days of American sports car racing in the 70's with drivers like Roger Penske, Mark Donahue and Carroll Shelby. It is currently undergoing substantial renovations to bring it up to modern standards. The sinuous 3.27-mile road course has been divided into two smaller sections, each with its own pit and paddock area. The Skip Barber Three Day Racing Schools will run on the 1.6-mile South Course. Featuring a long front straight and combination of slow and medium speed corners as well as a fast dog-leg on the back straight, the South Course will provide an exhilarating challenge.
