INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Jordan Grand Prix Ltd. have signed an exclusive agency agreement covering retail brand development in their respective North American and European markets.

IMS Properties, the retail marketing arm of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation, will be responsible for promoting the Jordan Grand Prix brands across the United States, Mexico, Canada and other markets as opportunities arise. Likewise, Jordan will serve as marketing agent for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway brands, including the Indianapolis 500, the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis, the Indy Racing League and the Brickyard 400 (the Speedways NASCAR Winston Cup event).

"We are pleased to have the marketing clout of Jordan Grand Prix, one of Formula Ones premier organizations, backing our products in overseas markets, just as we are pleased to promote the Jordan name on this continent," said Tony George, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president.

Jordan Grand Prix will be one of 11 Formula One teams competing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sept. 24, 2000, as part of the inaugural United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis. The race, which will take place on a new 2.61-mile (4.2-km) road course, will be round 15 of the 2000 FIA Formula One World Championship.

Jordan finished third in the 1999 F1 Constructors Championship, its highest-ever placing. Driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen collected two victories for the team at the French and Italian Grands Prix and finished third in the 1999 F1 Drivers Championship.

"Indianapolis is one of the most famous motorsport venues in the world," said Eddie Jordan, founder and chairman of Jordan Grand Prix. "I am delighted that Jordan has this new association, given the importance of next years U.S. Grand Prix and our determination to make Indianapolis a permanent fixture on the Formula One calendar.

"This deal reflects Jordans innovative approach to building its international profile and gives the Indianapolis Motor Speedway an excellent platform within Formula One. Our team has five major U.S. sponsors, and in Indianapolis Motor Speedway we have the best partner when it comes to building our reputation and brand across the important North American marketplace."
