NASCAR BGN: Veteran Crew Chief Sandy Jones Joins Buckshot Racing For 2000 NASCAR Busch Series Season

Buckshot Racing announced today that Busch Series veteran Sandy Jones has joined driver Buckshot Jones and the No.00 Team as crew chief for the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series season.

Although Sandy Jones is a new addition to the Buckshot Racing family, he is no stranger to NASCAR competition. After starting his racing career in 1972, Jones attained crew chief status in 1992 with RaDiUs Racing's Winston Cup operation. He remained crew chief at RaDiUs Racing for 55 races until joining Diamond Ridge Motorsports in late-1995. As a NASCAR Busch Series crew chief, Jones has seven wins, five poles, 16 top fives and 31 top 10's in 92 starts.

"I'm really excited to be a part of Buckshot Racing and about the possibilities that lie ahead," said Sandy Jones. "Buckshot and I have a lot in common including our goals for a championship season in 2000. Although our relationship is new, it won't take long for us to gel. We plan to do extensive testing before the season opener in Daytona."

Buckshot Jones has experienced comparable Busch Series success in the past five years on the circuit. In 107 Busch Series starts, he has two wins, two poles, 12 top fives and 28 top 10's. Buckshot is optimistic about the upcoming season and the new relationship with Sandy Jones.

"Sandy is a proven winner in Busch Series competition and a great fit at Buckshot Racing," Buckshot said. "I met Sandy years ago while he was working with Elliott Sadler and we have established a great rapport. The competition has become so strong. I'm really looking forward to see what we can accomplish in the upcoming season."
