Indianapolis, IN-Pennzoil Panther Racing and driver Scott
Goodyear reached an
agreement this week to continue their relationship through the 2000 Indy
Racing
League season. Goodyear has been the primary driver for the team since
its
inception in 1998.
"This completes the trilogy-Pennzoil, Andy Brown and Scott," said co-owner John Barnes. "We had great success in 1999 with our team and we're looking for 2000 to be our season. We have crew chief Kevin Blanch, the Panther Pack and have added Simon Morley from Hogan Racing, so we're going to build from where we finished 1999."
Goodyear and the "Pack" have compiled an impressive record during the past two seasons including; two victories in 1999, 7 top five finishes, 9 top 10 finishes and over $1.5 million in prize money. Goodyear also was the recipient of the MCI Worldcom/IRL Crew Most Popular driver award in 1999.
"It's great to be back with Pennzoil Panther Racing for the 2000 season," said Goodyear. "We had a great run in 1999 and with the momentum we've built as a team the "Pack" should be more impressive in 2000."
Goodyear and the "Pack" will begin preparations for the 2000 season at the open test December 10-12 at the Walt Disney World Speedway.
