After visiting the Homestead-Miami Speedway annually as a spectator since 1997, Kevin Grubb finally has the opportunity to compete in his first NASCAR Busch Series race on the 1.5 mile speedway.

"I've been coming to Homestead for a few years now," said Grubb. "The first time was in 1997. I came to help my brother, Wayne, and his Grubb Motorsports team. Last year, I again visited Homestead, but this time it was with the Timber Wolf team. I still wasn't scheduled to race. Instead, we made the announcement that I was driving the No. 37 car in 1999. I've been to a few tracks this season that I haven't raced on before, but Homestead is the only one that I know my way around well."

In his inaugural Homestead race, Grubb is driving the same Timber Wolf car that he drove to an eighth place finish two weeks ago in Memphis, Tennessee.

"This car is our best flat-track car," added the Mechanicsville, Virginia resident. " We finished fifth with it in Richmond and eighth in Memphis."
