"I first saw the track in 1995 while testing. I almost hurt myself
during a practice crash, so I'm always a little conservative when I go
back, but I always seem to run well there.
"I've finished 10th, ninth and second, so I've really had some good runs, considering how it all started.
"The sand (on the track) at Miami isn't as bad as Darlington (S.C.) or Rockingham (N.C.). I don't believe it plays a factor -- unless you get way out of the groove, and I don't plan to be out of the groove. The race track is in pretty good shape.
"It's a very symmetrical track. Turns one and two are exactly like turns three and four, so you can pick a line that works for the car's setup and stick with it in all the corners. I think the new design is a lot better than the old one.
"Hopefully I can finish the 1999 season like it started -- with a win!"
