SCHRADER'S THOUGHTS HEADING INTO THE DURA LUBE 500:
* "Phoenix is an awesome race track," said Schrader. "I have competed in all sorts of series at this race track and have had success in every type of car, but a Winston Cup car. I like the track, but it's a unique track to figure out. It is not really an oval because it has a dog-leg turn on the backstretch. Turn four is also a bit challenging because it is very slick and there are some bumps coming off the turn, so you need to be very careful when your heading for the frontstretch."
CREW CHIEF SHOP TALK:
* "We're going to run the same car we raced at Martinsville and New Hampshire," said Sam Johns, crew chief of the Skoal Racing Monte Carlo. "It is our first time at Phoenix together, but it's a track that Kenny has a lot of experience."
SKOAL RACING TEAM NEWS:
* Last year at PIR, Schrader and the Skoal Racing team won the pole position. They were running well until they pitted and the caution came out right after their pit stop. That caution caused them to go two laps down and they finished 23rd.
* Schrader will pull double duty this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. He will compete in Saturday's Busch Series event in the No. 15 Oakwood Homes Monte Carlo in addition to his duties in the Skoal Racing Monte Carlo.
* Schrader is the winningest driver, with nine victories, at Phoenix International Raceway. He has collected two Southwest Tour, four USAC Midget and three USAC Silver Crown trophies.
