"Although I've never competed in Phoenix, I usually do well on this type
of
track. It is similar to Milwaukee and New Hampshire, where I got my two
wins. I'm excited about racing on the new tracks this year. The expansion
of
the Busch Series really proves how popular this sport has become and I'm
proud to be a part of it." -- Buckshot Jones, Driver No.00
* Racing in Phoenix...Almost
Although he has never raced in Phoenix, Buckshot Jones is no stranger to success at tracks similar to the 1-mile oval. Jones' record on other flat, 1-mile tracks include:
MILWAUKEE MILE
- 1 win, 2 top-5s and 3 top-10s in 5 starts
NEW HAMPSHIRE
- 1 win and 71 laps led in the two most recent races
PIKES PEAK
- 69 laps led in the inaugural event
* No.00 Cheez-It Pontiac
The Buckshot Racing team will field the same Pontiac that Jones piloted to 11th-place finishes at Michigan Speedway on August 21, Darlington Raceway on September 4 and Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 9. The same car also saw action in Rockingham where the team finished 18th.
* Happy Birthday
Rear tire changer, Ernie Willimon and gas man, Frank Moon are celebrating their birthdays in November.
