PRODUCTION: Reynards's 2KQ Sportscar completes successful Ricard test

Brackley, UK. --Reynard's 2KQ Sportscar successfully completed its second test at Paul Ricard this week . The 2KQ, which was officially launched to the world last week, has completed more than 800 km without any reliability problems. The first car of the twelve that are scheduled for production has been testing with a Judd V10 engine with test team operations provided by the ORECA squad.

Kieron Salter, Technical Manager of the Special Projects Division where the 2KQ is being produced said, "The reliability of this car and its all new transmission has allowed us to make maximum use of these two initial test sessions. Everyone who has been involved with project from Design, Manufacture and Assembly should feel they have done an excellent job".

"We have many areas of the car set-up where we have more performance available, but as it stands, out of the box, the car has proved itself to be quick. From what we know of other Sportscar tests at Ricard we are very much on the pace, and we are looking forward to testing in America in preparation for our first race at Daytona. We are satisfied we have achieved our initial test objectives of proving that the systems and the car work as a competitive package".

Paul Owens, Vice President of Reynard Motorsport Group, who engineered the car for both tests, was very pleased with the overall performance after only a few days of testing, saying "I feel there is plenty yet to come from the car and it is only a matter of further testing to prove this. The time achieved by Olivier (Beretta) of 1'12.33 seconds is a very respectable time in race trim. "
