FAYETTEVILLE, GA -- The stars and cars of the United
Speed Alliance Racing Hooters ProCup Series return to the tight confines
of Peach State Speedway, nestled in Jefferson, GA, for Miller Lite 250 on
Saturday, October 23.
The 36-car starting field will muscle their way around the half-mile oval for 250 grueling laps for the $81,750 in posted awards in the Series' second and last stop in the Peach State.
With only 800 laps remaining in the $1.5-million series, laps and time are running out for Jay Fogleman and Mario Gosselin to challenge and knock Bobby Gill from atop the points lead.
Of the 42 pre-entered drivers that will be vying for one of the coveted starting berths, five hail from Georgia. Jabe Jones, of Toccoa, Bobby Gill, of Dalton, Clay Dale, of Jefferson, Steve Christian, of Buford, and Bill Plemons, Jr., of Locust Grove.
If these drivers are to be successful, they will have to stave off charges from Mario Gosselin, Jeff Agnew, Andy Thurman, Jay Fogleman, Derrick Kelley, Tim Clayton and Marty Ward -- the May winner at Peach State Speedway.
Front Gate opens at 4 p.m. and ticket prices are only $20. The action packed day of racing starts at 4:30 p.m with two laps of qualifying. Fans should come early and take part in the on-track Autograph session at 6 p.m. and the green flag start to the Miller Lite 250 at 7 p.m. The Allison Legacy Series 50 will follow the Hooters ProCup Series.
