"Qualifying up front is the key to doing well at Rockingham. Tire wear is
very important and your car needs to be set up to be good on long runs. To
have a shot at winning, you really need to have a car that is strong all
day."-- Buckshot Jones, Driver No.00
Buckshot Jones took the wheel of the No.30 Jimmy Dean Pontiac in the Winston 500 last week in Talladega. After starting 42nd, Jones maneuvered his way into a 27th-place finish.
* Solid As A Rock
Jones earned his first career Busch Series pole at North Carolina Speedway in October 1996 with a speed of 150.425 mph. He has qualified 11th or better in five of six Busch Series races at the Rock.
* No.00 Cheez-It Pontiac
The Buckshot Racing team will field the same Pontiac that Jones piloted to 11th-place finishes at Michigan Speedway on August 21, Darlington Raceway on September 4 and Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 9.
