Quotes
ROBBY GORDON "This is a great run for us. We made a bunch of changes in the morning in hopes that we could turn around the poor qualifying effort and it paid off. We had the fifth-fastest race lap of the day and the car seemed to get stronger as the stints went along.
"The radio communication was really bad all day. Turns out the antenna broke off the nose of the car. I could only hear the pit box on the front straight for a brief period of time and they couldn't hear me at all. When it came to pit calls at the last minute, which we had two, I just followed everyone else in. There was no way they could communicate to me to take a splash when that last yellow came out. I just figured we were on the same strategy as the leaders.
At the end, I was hooked up. Pruett and I got daMatta, then had a fun dice the rest of the way in. We finally got Pruett in the chicane on the back straight when he hopped a curb and got sideways.
"Once again the car held up and I give the guys credit for that. This is going to make the next two days here in Australia a lot of fun!"
