IRL: Pep Boys Indy Racing League Medical Update

7:55 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999 FORT WORTH, Texas- Ten people were transported to area hospitals as a result of the pit-road accident during the final practice today for the Mall.com 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, said Dr. Henry Bock, Pep Boys Indy Racing League director of medical services.

Seven were transported to hospitals via ground; three were transported via air, Bock said. Two were treated and released from the Columbia HCA Infield Care Center at the track, Bock said.

Jeff W. Howerton John Peter Smith, Fort Worth
Niclas L. Jonsson Harris Methodist, Fort Worth

Conditions of those transported are not available at this time. Updated conditions will be provided as soon as available.

All of those transported to area hospitals, and treated and released at the track were affiliated with the Blueprint-Immke Racing team.
