Justin, TX- As the 1999 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season winds down, the championship points battle heats up and Stacy Compton is in the hunt for the title as the No. 86 RC Dodge rolls into Texas Motor Speedway.

Compton is currently fourth in the NCTS point standings entering Friday night's 200-mile event collecting five Bud Pole Awards, 11 top-five's and 18 top-20's to his credit this race season. He was the point's leader after his second-place finish at Martinsville on April 17 and has been in the top-three all season.

"I love this track," said Compton. "We have a great motor program with Joey Arrington and you need plenty of horsepower at this track. We should be strong this weekend."

Team RC has performed well on the bigger tracks this season with four top-five's and four top-10's and two Bud Pole Awards. Compton has led at least one lap at five races at the tracks that are one-mile or more.

"Our speedway program has been awesome," stated Compton. "We have been to the wind tunnel and we're happy with the aerodynamic package. Dodge has stepped up to the plate and put together a strong truck package this year."

Team RC qualified second for the spring race here at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). Compton shared the front row with Impact Motorsports teammate Randy Tolsma and finished ninth after running in the top-10 most of the race. The No. 86 RC Dodge led lap 136, earning five bonus points for leading a lap.

"The fans in Texas are the best," Compton said. "You are going to see a lot of door-to-door racing in the race. We'll put on a good show on Friday night."
