Championship chase. Six drivers remain eligible to win
the Pep Boys
Million as season champion entering this final event of the season. Greg
Ray, a resident of Plano, Texas, leads the standings with 255 points.
1999 Indianapolis 500 and defending league champion Kenny Brack is second at 242. Brack drives the Houston-based team owned by four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt.
Sam Schmidt is third at 225, Scott Sharp fourth at 209, 1999 Longhorn 500 presented by MCI WorldCom winner Scott Goodyear fifth at 207 and 1996 Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Lazier sixth at 204.
The winner of the championship will earn a $1 million bonus from series sponsor Pep Boys.
