SCHRADER'S THOUGHTS HEADING INTO THE UAW-GM QUALITY 500:

* "I am looking forward to returning to Charlotte," said Schrader. "It is one of my favorite tracks. I like the fast tracks and Charlotte is definitely one of the faster ones. We had a good run in the spring here and we're looking forward to improving that finish."

CREW CHIEF SHOP TALK:

* "We're returning to Charlotte with the same car we ran here in the spring," said Sam Johns. "We also ran this car at both Pocono races, Indianapolis and Darlington. We had a top-10 finish at Darlington and think that we can definitely run strong here this week. Kenny really likes this race track and he gets around the track real well. When the driver likes the track and has it figured out, a team can build their program around that.

"I am real proud of the way the pit crew has improved over the last month. Their pit stops have improved tremendously. Pit stops have consistently been in the 15-16 second range. Those are the times you need to gain positions in the pits."

SKOAL RACING TEAM NEWS:

* Schrader will pull double duty this weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway. He will compete in Saturday's Busch Series event in the No. 15 Oakwood Homes Monte Carlo in addition to his duties in the Skoal Racing Monte Carlo.
