ON RACING AT CHARLOTTE
"I think just about everyone likes coming to Charlotte," said Schrader. "For most of us, it is close to home, but it is also a great track to compete on. It can be tricky because it really changes from morning to afternoon, and it can also get pretty greasy if the weather is hot. Charlotte is one of my favorite tracks because it is extremely fast and allows for a lot of passing. Charlotte would be a great place to win one for Oakwood Homes since this is their home track too."
NO. 15 OAKWOOD HOMES CHEVY
"We're taking the same car and motor we ran at Michigan," said crew chief Chris Carrier. "This will be the second time we use the new tire. It threw a lot of teams a curve, but we adjusted pretty well to it in Michigan. We were real loose in qualifying at Charlotte in May so we will definitely go with a much tighter set-up this time. Hopefully we learned a lot and can apply it to stay a step ahead."
OAKWOOD HOMES RACIN' SELLABRATION: TWO RACES LEFT TO ENTER TO WIN RICHARD PETTY DRIVING EXPERIENCE
Throughout the 1999 season, members of the media have had the opportunity to participate in a contest put on by Oakwood Homes. At every NASCAR Busch Series race the No. 15 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet has competed with driver Ken Schrader, media have predicted where they believe Schrader will be running at the halfway point of the race. The winners each week are entered in a grand prize drawing to win a Richard Petty Driving Experience. Mike Snow with Speedway Scene was the winner in 1998. So far in 1999, there have been 12 different winners. One of those winners will be selected following the Busch Series race in Rockingham.
In addition to the media contest, Oakwood Homes has presented an opportunity to win a grand prize to the public. Individuals have been allowed to register at any Oakwood Homes sales center and 10 people will be selected to participate in the Richard Petty Driving experience. In addition, one of those 10 people will draw the key that unlocks the door to a Sunrise Dream Home. Last year, the winner of the home was Felicia Weatherford of Cleveland, Tenn.
The 1999 Racin' Sellabration will conclude at Lowe's Motor Speedway on November 15 when 24 lucky winners and Oakwood Homes employees will participate in the experience and one winner will open the key to a new three bedroom home.
