SCHRADER'S THOUGHTS HEADING INTO THE NAPA AUTOCARE 500:
"I always look forward to a good short track race," said Ken Schrader, driver of the No. 33 Skoal Racing Monte Carlo. "From the driver's seat, Martinsville isn't one of my favorite short tracks, but it is a great race to watch from the stands.
"The guys who drive into the turns deeper and get the most out of their lap will be the ones contending for the win at the end of the race. We'll be one of the teams driving hard into the turns and getting the most out of our brakes. Many of the brake companies have improved the durability of their products, so brakes aren't as big of a problem as they used to be."
CREW CHIEF SHOP TALK:
"We're taking the same car we ran at New Hampshire last month," said Sam Johns, crew chief of the Skoal Racing Monte Carlo. "We had planned on taking the car we ran at Richmond, but Kenny really like the new car he raced at New Hampshire. New Hampshire was the first time we raced that car. If it runs good this weekend, we're going to turn it around and take it to Phoenix.
