Las Vegas was not lucky today for the Pennzoil Panther Pack. Goodyear
started the race in 5th position and ran consistently in the top 5 for the
first 47 laps of the race and it appeared Goodyear had a good car.
On lap 48 Goodyear felt something in the rear of the car and immediately went into a 180 degree turn. Goodyear hit the wall in Turn 4 with the left side of the car. Goodyear left the car under his own power and was cleared a short time later from the infield medical center.
Goodyear said, "I could feel something let go and I just got ready for the impact. It happened so quickly and I really felt to that point that I had a great race car. We were just making very slight weight adjustments in the beginning of the race and the car was responding great."
The Pennzoil Panther Pack will return to action on October 17th at the Texas Motor Speedway for the final race of the Pep Boys Indy Racing League of the season.
