Feature Notes
* KLAS-TV (CBS) Sports Reporter, Chris Maathuis, will get hands on experience with the Pennzoil Panther Pack on Thursday evening. Maathuis and Crew Chief Kevin Blanch will each change a tire for a combined score against Galles and Treadway racing. The event will take place on Thursday evening at the Orleans Hotel.
* The Pennzoil Panther Racing show car will be on display in the casino of the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas from Tuesday evening through Friday evening.
* Scott Goodyear was a celebrity guest on the Jenny Jones program last week. The program featured a young man, Adam Gardner, who has a dream to get into racing. So to help make Adam's dream come true, Scott and the IRL have invited Adam and his father to the Vegas.com 500. Scott will take Adam on a pace car ride and then Adam and his father will get to enjoy the racing action first hand. The program is set to air on Friday, October 1, 1999.
* Crew Chief Kevin Blanch fished in the Big Bucks Bass Regional in Shelbyville, IL during the weekend of September 10th-12th. Blanch finished 26th overall but was the first place finisher for Javelin Boats. Blanch will fish again in the Javelin Stratus Team Owners Bass Tournament Oct 8th and 9th on Lake Monroe.
* Pennzoil Racing will be a sponsor of the annual Houston Heartwalk on October 9th and Scott Goodyear will be the honorary starter for the event. The walk takes place at Sam Houston Park in downtown Houston. Goodyear will then sign autographs from 9a.m.-11a.m..
