NASCAR Busch Series Notes

On Dover: Todd Bodine has three wins at Dover Downs International Speedway. His first win at Dover was during the spring event in 1991 and was also his first career win in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division. His most recent win at Dover was during the spring event in 1993, the same year he swept both Busch Series events at the Monster Mile. In his most recent outing in June of this year, Bodine scored a third-place finish.

"Dover is an aggressive race track and that's how you have to approach it," Bodine said. "The track is a physical race track and you have to be prepared. Dover is not an easy race track, but it is one where I have always been able to do well. The first time I raced there I finished third.

"We have yet to win a race this season, but we've come real close several times. We feel real good about going to Dover. We finished third there in the spring and we're taking that same car this weekend."

Equipment: The car Bodine will compete with at Dover this weekend is "Hillbilly." "Hillbilly" is the same car Bodine finished third with at Dover in June. "Hillbilly" has not finished outside the top 10 in 1999. Among "Hillbilly's" accomplishments in 1999 is a pair of fifth-place finishes at Bristol.

Two Weeks Ago In Richmond: Bodine qualified fifth for the Autolite Platinum 250 two weeks ago at Richmond. Bodine started experiencing problems when he hit a tire on pit road while exiting the pits. The tire damage the nose of the Phillips 66 Chevy. A few laps later, Bodine spun and the No. 66 Chevy had heavy sheet metal damage. Within a few laps of returning to competition, Bodine started losing oil pressure. Bodine was forced to retire from the event with a failed engine. It was Bodine's first DNF since Texas.

200th Start: Bodine is quickly approaching his 200th career NASCAR Busch Series start. Bodine, who has been a full-time and part-time competitor on the circuit since 1990, is schedule to make his 200th career start at Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 9.

Bodine Favorite: Bodine's favorite number is 11.
