SCCA: Gigliotti disqualified from Grand Rapids Trans-Am

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--Following analysis of the tires from car No. 28 after the West Michigan Grand Prix Trans-Am Series race, August 29, Lou Gigliotti has been disqualified, losing all points and prize money earned at the event (six Drivers' Championship points and $1,200).

Laboratory analysis of Gigliotti's tires, one of SCCA Pro Racing's post-race technical inspection procedures, revealed the consistent presence of a foreign substance on the tires surface, indicative of attempts to improve tire performance in violation of Pro Racing Regulation 22.3.2.1 (1999 PRR, page 43).
