NHRA: Wiseguy's Ready for the Big Go
2 September 1999
Indy: Pre Race:Scott Weis and his Wiseguy Crew will be making the trip to the 45th annual NHRA U.S. Nationals.
Scooter "Machinegun" Weis is looking forward to taking his Tootees Race Cars chassisied flopper down Indy's famed quarter mile. The car features a new Dupont Wiseguy paint scheme which was applied by Chuck's Brush Works at Advance Collision Technology in Beltsville, Maryland. The 1998 Mustang Funny Car has undergone aerodynamic and chassis changes in an attempt to raise the performance standard of the team and eventually the class. The Wiseguy team has also added associate sponsorship from Dupont and Thermal Tech Coatings. Thermal Tech specializes in the application of high tech powder, ceramic and dry film coatings for many industries. Weis says " It was tough sitting out the west coast swing and I'm itching to get back in the saddle. We hope to improve on where we left off starting at Indy, as well as the following 5 races on the tour."
"Getting the chance to race at Indy is a real thrill as the U.S. Nationals
is 'THE' drag race. This class has been in a state of flux of late, and I
am optimistic about our chances of being part of the classes' new look." "
I want to say thanks to our sponsors Ashland Ford, Commercial Machine,
Oakdale Constuction, Tootees Race Cars, Champion, Mothers Waxes Polishes
and Cleaners, SRS Motor Parts, Moore Performance and Dupont. We especially
want to thank Chuck, George, Carlos and the boys at Advanced Collision
Technology for all the hard work on the new body. We look forward to
seeing everyone at the race." Visit us online at
