NASCAR BGN: Buckshot Jones Track Notes, Michigan
19 August 1999
"Michigan Speedway was the first track we competed on that was over a mile long. It's a wide track with a lot of room to race and pass and it can be very forgiving when you need it to be. Fuel mileage is always a big concern. We've gambled once before and it paid off so hopefully we've learned enough from our experiences to have a shot at winning."

Not only is Michigan Speedway the site of Buckshot Jones' first superspeedway start, but he also earned his first top-five superspeedway finish at the track. In the 1997 Detroit Gasket 200, Jones gambled on fuel mileage to cross the stripe in fifth position.
