Drag Bikes: Dennis Disqualified Following Post Race Inspection
24 July 1999
Huntsville, Alabama - At the conclusion of the AMA/Prostar Trim-Tex Street Fighter Nationals, held recently in Chicago, engine components were retained from the winner and runner-up in the 600 SuperSport class. Those components were taken to AMA's headquarters for inspection by AMA Technical Manager Rob King. That inspection determined that the engine used by rider Keith Dennis contained components which did not meet original factory dimensions - which is a class requirement. As the result, Dennis has been disqualified for technical violations, he will not receive any points or prizes from this event. This disqualification does not affect any other event, previous championships or performance records, and final event results will not change.
No fines or further penalties are to be issued, and Dennis may compete at any upcoming AMA/Prostar event.
