NASCAR WCUP: Jiffy Lube 300 Race Wrap Up

* Jeff Burton won the Jiffy Lube 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway, his fourth victory in 1999. It is his ninth career victory in 173 NASCAR Winston Cup races. He moved into a four-way tie for 43rd on the all-time winners list joining Cotton Owens, Paul Goldsmith and Bobby Labonte. His most recent victory came in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, six races ago. It is his 13th top-10 finish, including 11 top-fives, in 18 races this season.

* Burtons victory from 38th is the deepest in the field that a winner has started since Bill Elliott won from a 38th-place starting position at Daytona in July 1988.

* This was Jeff Burton s third consecutive victory in the Jiffy Lube 300 and third victory in nine races at New Hampshire. It was his fifth top-five finish here.

* Jeff Burton led just once, leading the final two of the 300 laps raced. Tony Stewart led 118 of the 300 laps raced today, the most of all drivers. Stewart has led in eight of the 18 races in 1999 and the most laps in two.

* Entering the second half of the 1999 season, Ford has nine victories. Chevrolet has six and Pontiac has three victories in 1999.

* Dale Jarrett holds a 240-point lead over Jeff Burton, the biggest point margin to this point in 1999.

* Kenny Wallace (second) scored his career-best NASCAR Winston Cup finish. It was his third top-10 finish in his seven NASCAR Winston Cup races at New Hampshire.

* Jeff Gordon (third) posted his fourth straight top-three finish in nine races here.

* Dale Jarrett (fourth) scored his 15th straight top-10 finish this season, extending a streak that began at Atlanta. This was Jarretts fourth straight top-10 finish here.

* Bill Elliott (fifth) scored his first top-five finish in the last 55 races. His most recent top five prior to today was a fifth-place finish at Martinsville on September 29, 1997. Elliott has scored three top-10 finishes in nine races at New Hampshire.

* Mark Martin (sixth) is the only driver to score eight top 10s in the nine races here.

* Wally Dallenbach (seventh) and Ricky Craven (13th) both scored season-best finishes

* Jimmy Spencer (ninth) has scored two top-10 finishes in the last three races , his only top-10 finishes this season.

* Tony Stewart (10th) has been the highest finishing rookie in 17 of the 18 races this season. This was his 10th top-10 finish in 18 races in 1999.

* Rick Mast (30th) and Bobby Labonte (38th) are the only drivers to compete in all 18 races in 1998 that have not posted a DNF.

* Bobby Labonte is the only driver to lead at least one lap in 16 of the 18 races this season.

* All five of Jack Roushs race teams failed to qualify in first-round qualifying and four of the Roush drivers used provisionals to make the race. Despite their qualifying woes, all five finished in the top 25: Burton (first), Mark Martin (sixth), Johnny Benson (17th), Kevin Lepage (22nd) and Chad Little (24th).

* The NASCAR Winston Cup Leader bonus will be worth $20,000 for the Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway.
