NASCAR WCUP: Realtree Outdoor Products and Marcis to Kick Off the Second Half of the Season Undercover
2 July 1999
Columbus, Ga. - The No. 71 Team Realtree Chevrolet guided by veteran Dave Marcis will take on a new look for the upcoming running of the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway. In an effort to silence the rumors that he's got one foot out the door, Marcis and Team Realtree came up with a crafty way to say that Marcis is still in the hunt."We are happy to be with Dave (Marcis) and wanted to show our support of him and his accomplishments, especially at Daytona. The Realtree Hardwoods camouflage pattern is new for 1999, and it only makes since to debut it at a track where Dave has had such tremendous success," said Realtree President Bill Jordan Team Realtree kicked off the "Blend in or go Hungry" theme at this years SHOT show in Atlanta. In addition to releasing the new Hardwoods pattern this weekend, July 4th marks the 1999 premier of Realtree Outdoors on TNN featuring highlights from the 1999 shows. Realtree Outdoors will air at 7 p.m. every Sunday for the remainder of the year.
"We're really excited about this weekend and the second half of the season with Dave," said Jordan. "He's a class act." Marcis holds the record with 31 consecutive starts at Daytona. He is one race shy of tying Richard Petty's record of most career starts.
