NASCAR-WCUP: Victory Motorcycles to be Primary Sponsor of No. 75 Car for Pepsi 400 in Daytona

One "John Boy and Billy" listener will win Victory Motorcycle

MINNEAPOLIS-- On July 3, Ted Musgrave will be taking the turns at Daytona International Speedway on two wheels. The No. 75 car hell be driving, owned by Butch Mock Motorsports, will feature a Victory Motorcycles paint scheme, specially designed for the Pepsi 400.

Victory Motorcycles, Polaris 1998 entry into the American-made heavyweight cruiser market, will be the primary sponsor of the No. 75 Ford Taurus for the July 3 race at Daytona International Speedway. The cars paint scheme features Victory Motorcycles logo on the cars hood, and flames shooting from its front tires will stretch across the side panels.

"Were thrilled to introduce Victory Motorcycles into our partnership with Butch Mock," said Tom Tiller, chief executive officer, Polaris Industries Inc. "Incorporating the motorcycle industry with the excitement of NASCAR racing is a natural connection, and were proud to be among the first to bring them together."

As part of the Victory No. 75 car sponsorship, "The Big Show," a morning radio program hosted by John Boy & Billy, will feature a contest in which one listener will win a new Victory Motorcycle. The Big Show is syndicated in 17 states, with an audience of more than two million daily. Through a call-in contest, 22 listeners will be matched with top Winston Cup drivers " 20 callers will be paired with the top-20 Winston Cup points-leaders, one with Ted Musgrave and one will be matched with the remaining drivers in the Pepsi 400. The caller paired with Musgrave will receive a $500 leather Victory jacket, and the caller matched with the winning driver of the Pepsi 400 will win a 1999 Victory V92C Motorcycle. Call-in contestants will be selected between June 28 and July 2, and all callers matched with a Winston Cup driver will win a Victory T-shirt.

The Victory V92C is a made-in-the-U.S.A. heavyweight cruiser, featuring a unique combination of looks, performance and sound. Victory is designed with classic aviation, automotive and motorcycle styling, and looks like no other motorcycle on the market. At over 92 cubic inches (1507 cc), the engine is one of the largest V-twins available. The Victory V92C was named "Cruiser of the Year" by Cycle World in 1998, and to date, more than 2,500 bikes have been shipped nationwide.

Victory Motorcycles, a division of Minneapolis-based Polaris Industries Inc., publicly introduced the Victory V92C two years ago and the first bike rolled out of the companys Spirit Lake, Iowa, manufacturing facility last July. The company now boasts nearly 300 North American Victory dealers, and expansion to international markets is underway. Victory is the first new American-made motorcycle manufacturer to mass-distribute a bike in almost 50 years.

Polaris designs, engineers, manufactures and markets snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, Victory motorcycles, personal watercraft, and the Polaris RANGER for recreational and utility use. Polaris is the largest snowmobile manufacturer in the world, and one of the largest U.S. manufacturers of ATVs and personal watercraft. Polaris Industries Inc. trades on the New York Stock Exchange and Pacific Stock Exchange under the symbol "PII," and the company is included in the S&P SmallCap 600 stock price index.
