NASCAR: Lagasse' Makes it Two-Out-of-Three

COOPER HAS BOUNTY PLACED ON HIS HEADSt. Augustine, Fl - The NASCAR Winston Racing Series Snap-On Sportsman Division at St. Augustine Speedway had Scott Lagasse,' Jr. take the pole and led the first 25 laps. Then Don "DOC Halliday slipped under Lagasse' and led the next 15 laps. When the 18 year old Lagasse' was able to repass Halliday and go on to victory. Halliday held on to second followed by BO Allen, Kenny Hall and Nick Pilinko.
Ricky Cooper, the points leader of the Rolling Thunder Trucks class, had a$100 a week bounty placed on his head this week. The bounty will increase $100 a week till its won or it reaches $500 at that time Copper will get the $500. The bounty didn't seem to faze Cooper as he qualified on the pole and led all 25 laps to make it four in a row. Chasing Cooper was Alan Moore, Tommy Rupp, Andy Waldron and Toby Sims.
Late Models saw the two combatants from last week on the front row. Chuck Hiers rebounded from his $200 fine to take the pole with Larry Osteen on the outside. Hiers jumped out to an early lead, Osteen was able to catch him in traffic but unable to get around. Trailing behind in third was Chris Tedder, Ron "Sunshine" McCreary, and David Showers.
Rick's Mufflerman Modifieds Point's Leader George Thrift, III added to his points led by leading all 35 laps of the MOD Squad feature. Thrift was Challenged by Tuffy Garrigg nut held on to win his seventh main of the season. Carrigg finished second followed by Robert Deal, Mark Bergman and John "Underdog" Galbraith.
Jimmie Bunn gets his first win in the Hobby Stocks Division. Bunn finished a straightway ahead of second place Rodney Norman. The rest of the field was Scooter Hicks, Seth Caudill, and Chris Manucy.
Ministocks Feature was Deja vue all over again, as the top three was a repeat of last week. Joey Haslauer first, Jay Farris second, and Steve Thompson third. Rounding out the top five was Kevin Burkett and Mike Gibbs.
