ARCA: Strait Out; Leslin In for Owner Jack Bowsher

6 June 1999

After a partnership of 2 years plus, veteran Mokena, Illinois driver Bob Strait and car owner Jack Bowsher have mutually parted ways. Strait, a 14-time ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series winner, finished 5th in the series standings in the Bowsher prepared Thunderbirds in 1997 and 3rd in '98.

During Strait's tenure in the familiar #21 Zinsser Paints Product Ford, he posted 1 victory at Winchester Speedway in September of '98. 1988 ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series champion and veteran NASCAR Busch Series driver Tracy Leslie has been named as the replacement. Leslie is scheduled to be aboard Bowsher's Ford at Michigan Speedway on June 12 and run the remainder of the '99 ARCA schedule.
