NOTES

Matt Kenseth will be running the same Monte Carlo he competed with at Texas Motor Speedway in March.

Kenseth and the DeWALT Race Team did not test at Charlotte prior to this weekend.

One year ago, Matt Kenseth sat second in the championship points race going into the 1998 Charlotte Carquest 300. Kenseth was 10 points behind leader Mike McLaughlin and 101 points ahead of third place sitter Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Dale went on to capture the 1998 Busch Series Championship. Presently, Kenseth leads the point's race by 89 points over Dale Jr.

Matt will be signing autographs at two local Home Depot stores during Charlotte race week. Kenseth will be at the Home Depot in Pineville on Wednesday, May 26 from 6-8 PM and at the University Area Home Depot from 6-8 PM on Friday, May 28.

MATT'S THOUGHTS ON LMS

"I can't wait to head to Charlotte. It's one of my favorite racetracks. I've raced at Charlotte several times and had some good finishes there last season. I just want to have a good solid race and run up front." (On the points lead) "I'm happy to maintain the points lead, but I'm really happy to have this DeWALT Chevy back in victory lane. These wins are hard to come by. This Busch Series is ultra competitive. A lot of guys are running way better than we did last year."
