Late Model Stocks: Norton Wins in Lake City

Lake City. Fl. - Bubba Norton proved to be the best of the Late Model Sportsman Saturday night as he ;ed all 20 laps of the feature event. Wheeling his own Norton Home Improvement Monte Carlo, Norton got the jump at the start and never looked back. Leading team mate Eddie Gainey, Butch Dees, Raymond Ledford, and Shannon Adams to the stripe. Norton also was won the heat race.Florida Modifieds action found Roger webb out front early but at lap six J. F. McClellan took the point and was never headed in the 20 lap main event. Webb, who slipped back as far as fifth came back to finish second over Shannon Smith, James Pagliuca and Wayne Parker. Sam Clark, Jr., the heat race.
The Street Stocks Gang was out to derail Tim Conrad, who had won the previous two weeks, It looked as of Trick Thomas might be the man to get the job done.
But Thomas tangled with Clinton Keen and gave the lead to Conrad who sped to his third consecutive victory. Thomas came back to take second over Al Beckelheimer, Jr., Chad Howard, and Charles Seroski. Heat Winners were Conrad and Mitchell.
D. N. S. S., Different Night Same Story in the Pure Stocks as L.H. Davis got the early lead but could not hold off the charging Marty "The Dominator" Wood for the win. Davis held on for second as Roy Cain finished third, fourth Curtis Davis and fifth was Clay McRae. Wood also took the heat race.
