HARRISBURG, N.C. -- Cotter Group has hired Alison Abrams and Stacey Cotter and has promoted Geoff Huber to better service current clients and expanding business.

Abrams has joined Cotter Group as the national properties manager. She will handle endorsement coordination for race drivers Chad Little, Jerry Nadeau, Shawna Robinson and Tony Hunt, as well as secure sponsorship for the United Dirt Track Racing Association account. A native of New York, Abrams received her bachelors degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia in 1996. She was previously employed at ESPN as a sponsorship development representative in charge of creating and managing on-air sponsorship opportunities for programming such as mens college basketball, the NCAA championships and the NFL draft.

Cotter (no relation to founder Tom Cotter), has been hired as business manager for Cotter Group. Cotter has been a professional accountant for 13 years and was previously employed with the McGladrey & Pullen accounting firm in charge of the Cotter Group account. Prior to that, Cotter attended Western Kentucky University. A native of Owensboro, Ky., Cotter will manage the increasing financial work that company growth has brought.

Every CEO needs a skillful chief of staff, and Cotter Group has promoted Huber to this distinguished position. Huber, from Cleveland, began as an intern at Cotter Group five years ago, and has since worked in promotions, event services and publishing. Hubers new responsibilities as chief of staff will include general administration for Cotter Group as well as serving as chief assistant to Tom Cotter, chairman and CEO of the agency. Prior to joining Cotter Group, Huber attended the University of Guam where he studied psychology while he worked on a search and rescue team for the United States Navy. He spent the next 18 years in the airline business for TWA, Eastern Air Lines and Delta Air Lines.

Opened in 1988 by two public relations professionals, Cotter Group has grown into a 60-plus person, full-service marketing communications agency, specializing in public relations, publicity, event management, mobile marketing, promotions, sponsorship coordination and publishing.
