NHRA: Team JEG'S Sunday Pit Notes - NHRA Advanced Auto Southern Nationals

17 May 1999

Troy Coughlin/#24 Pro Stock:

Troy took on Greg Anderson is the first round of competition at the Advanced Auto Southern Nationals. Lane choice proved to be the key to winning the first round in Pro Stock. Troy was one of only three cars to make it down the left lane. "I did not focus on my job in the car as much as I needed to. The team did a great job in getting the #24 JEG'S machine down the left lane, we were just a little shy on the big end," said Coughlin. Troy will now set his sights on next weeks Mopar Parts Nationals in Englishtown, NJ; the next race on the NHRA schedule.

NOTE:

The Pro Stock Car Team will head to Darlington, NC tonight to begin extensive testing on Jeg Coughlin, Jr's #2 JEG'S Olds Cutlass. The team will focus all of their energy on this car. The goal is to find out what has plagued the performance of his car and fix it. "It is extremely important for us to solve this problem now. I will be racing in the Holly Dominator Duel in Englishtown and we have to put this three race DNQ streak to bed," said Jeg Coughlin, Jr. Jeg will be one of eight Pro Stock drivers to race in a special race for $50,000 at the Mopar Parts Nationals.
