USAC: Colorado Silver Bullet, Midget Car Races Slated for ESPN2

Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colo., the United States Auto Club, Coors Light and MCI WorldCom will be featured as part of an expansion of ESPN2's television's auto racing coverage this summer following an announcement by ESPN's Burke Magnus, Vice-president for Programming, and USAC President Johnny Capels.Round six of the 1999 Coors Light Silver Bullet Series, scheduled for Sunday afternoon, June 27, will be broadcast on ESPN2's popular "Thunder" series fron 9-11 pm (ET) on Wednesday night, July 7. The August 29 MCI WorldCom USAC National/Western Midget Car race at the 1-mile paved oval will also be taped for showing at a time yet to be determined by ESPN2.
"We are extremely delighted that our television partner, ESPN2, has selected these two events to add to their existing calendar of nationally-televised events," said Capels. "This augments an already exciting slate of USAC coverage for our race fans nationwide. Races at Pikes Peak International Raceway have proven to be among our most exciting and we look forward to this added exposure for our members and race teams."
