NASCAR: Party Awaits 'Beach Run' Riders

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Food, beverages, contests and musical entertainment await riders of the NASCAR Cafe John Boy and Billy Beach Run Fri., May 14, upon arrival at their ultimate destination - NASCAR Cafe Myrtle Beach.

The blowout party is the culmination of the second annual event, designed to benefit the Hendrick Marrow Program and the NASCAR Winston Cup Racing Wives Auxillary. The Beach Run began on Wed., May 12, in Orlando, Fla., and originated in three other cities - Nashville, Tenn.; Richmond, Va.; and Charleston, W.Va. - beginning on Thurs., May 13.

While riders are not scheduled to arrive at NASCAR Cafe Myrtle Beach until approximately 6 p.m. on May 14, festivities will begin at noon. The party is scheduled to run through 9 p.m., and food and beverages will be available outside during that time.

"This is the second annual NASCAR Cafe John Boy and Billy Beach Run," said "Big Show" star "John Boy" Isley. "Last year's was a hit, and we're sure this year's will be too. We can't wait to see everybody there. Come on and join us."

Four bands are scheduled to entertain fans and riders. Copperline will kick things off at noon, followed by Sly Fidelity at 2 p.m., Southern Blue at 4 p.m. and Dj Vu from 6-9 p.m.

A Beach Run Best Bike contest will be held beginning at 8 p.m., with a $200 cash prize awarded to the winner. Registration for that event runs from 2-5 p.m.

Other highlights of the party include: NASCAR Cafe Racewear tent sale; the sale of Beach Run T-shirts; a Titan Motorcycles display rig, including the Titan show car and Titan motorcycles; and the Speedway Children's Charities Mobile Command Center Presented by Your Office USA, with a raffle for the giveaway of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Donations will be collected for entrance to the festival area, with proceeds benefitting Speedway Children's Charities.

Pirate 100, WSEA-FM, the Myrtle Beach affiliate for the John Boy and Billy " Big Show," will provide live remote broadcasts from NASCAR Cafe Myrtle Beach beginning at noon.
