1999 BFGOODRICH TIRES TRANS-AM SERIES TV SCHEDULE FEATURES TNN, SPEEDVISION AND THE FOX SPORTS NETWORK COVERAGE; SEVEN RACES TO BE BROADCAST LIVE

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--The BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series will offer more than 40 hours of flag-to-flag race coverage in 1999, including eight live telecasts.

The Nashville Network, Speedvision and FOX Sports Net will provide original and encore coverage of the entire 1999 BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am 13-race season that kicked off April 18 with the Johnson Controls 100 at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, a same-day-delay broadcast on TNN.

TNN will originate six BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am broadcasts with three races televised live. Speedvision will originate the remaining seven races, including five live telecasts.

"Our television package is an integral component in the current and future success of the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series," said Scott Rittinger, BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series General Manager. "Although the best place to watch a Trans-Am race is up close and in person, we understand that not everyone can attend one or more of our races. We also want to give our growing fan base the opportunity to follow the Trans-Am as it travels across North America, so we're pleased to offer our fans the opportunity to view every 1999 BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am race from the comfort and convenience of their home."

In addition to its Long Beach coverage, TNN will also telecast the races at Road Atlanta (July 25, live), Trois-Rivieres (August 1, live), Detroit (August 15, tape delay), Grand Rapids (August 29, live) and Vancouver (September 5, tape delay).

Speedvision will originate the broadcast from Mosport Park (May 23, live), Lime Rock Park (May 31, live), the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (June 6, live), Road America (July 10, same-day-delay), Pikes Peak International Raceway (September 19, live), Houston (September 25, same-day-delay) and Sebring (October 17, live).
