USAC: Young Takes Speedrome Midget Car Opener; Series Continues Wednesday

Norm Young of Franklin, Ind. drove his Kelly Designs/IFI Floorings/Matlock Ford-Mercury VW to victory in Wednesday night's 50-lap Indianapolis Speedrome Midget Car Series opener.

The win was Young's fourth in Speedrome competition as he beat A.J. Davis, Ryan Scott, Dave Fuhrman and Gregg Cory to the checkered flag.

Young has the early point lead in the series going into this Wednesday night's events at the 1/5-mile paved oval. Practice gets under way at 5 p.m. and another 50-lap feature is planned.
