Pro-Motor Engineering (PME) powered Ricky Craven to victory Saturday in the NASCAR Winston West Series California 200 at California Speedway. Craven leased the same engine from PME for the 200-mile race that driver Jerry Nadeau won with in the NASCAR Winston West Orleans 150 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March. Craven started the race from the fifth position and secured the lead on lap 73 of the 100-lap race when driver Ken Schrader made a pit stop under caution. Craven built a strong lead for the remainder of the race and held it through Schraders charge in the closing laps.

Quotes

Peter Guild (Owner of Pro-Motor Engineering, Cravens engine builder for California 200): "Ricky Craven called me a couple of weeks ago asking to lease an engine for the California 200. We had just finished rebuilding the same engine that Jerry Nadeau won with in the Winston West race at Las Vegas. We felt that it was a strong, fresh engine, and did its job well at Las Vegas. It looks like it did a fantastic job again. That engine is of the same configuration that we use for our NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series engines, and probably will be used later at one of the bigger tracks the trucks race on."
