NHRA: JEG'S Mail Order Racing Team Saturday Pit Notes
2 May 1999
The conditions here at Virginia Motorsports Park are simply great. Today gave both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Truck the best conditions that we have seen so far during the '99 NHRA season. We have already seen record breaking runs today, if it stays the same we will see more tomorrow.Troy Coughlin/Pro Stock:
After the fourth session Troy landed in the number twelve position and earned a spot in the elite Speed Pro Federal-Mogul 200-Mph Club. "I am so happy for the employees at JEG'S, DART Machinery, the members of the JEG'S Mail Order Racing Team and my family for making this possible. Our entire program is a team effort and all of these people make it happen," stated Coughlin. Troy and his JEG'S machine will take on Allen Johnson in round number one tomorrow.
Jeg Coughlin/Pro Stock:
Jeg posted his second DNQ of the year here at Virginia Motorsports Park. "The conditions here were great most of the weekend. We got baseline to work from, but ran out of time," said Jeg. "Our team will be in Atlanta and have this car sorted out. We will go more in the direction of what the car wants and is trying to tell us. The only good thing is that we are learning form the situation."
Mike Coughlin/Pro Stock Truck:
Mike faced off against Mark Osborne in round number one today. Mike and his JEG'S Mail Order machine had the advantage off of the starting line. By the time he got 300' feet out on the track the two trucks were side by side. Mark Osborne won by less then a front quarter panel on a Chevy S-10. "We really made some progress in understanding what this new Chevy S-10 likes. The JEG'S Mail Order S-10 made a good run in the first round, but we got beat. There are plenty of races remaining in the quest for the '99 NHRA Winston Pro Stock Truck Championship," noted Mike Coughlin.
