After a disappointing first event in Gainesville, Greg Underdahl said that he feels the momentum growing. His riding style is showing consistent quick runs, and his team is learning new ways to harness the horsepower of the Byron Hines-built engine.
"I could have easily run head to head with Smith in round two, however lane choice was critical in Dallas, and unluckily I did not have it" said Underdahl. In Dallas, Phillips 66 Racing Fuels came aboard as a new team sponsor, and the added financial support will allow Underdahl to be more aggressive in the remainder of the 1999 season.
