NASCAR Trucks: Bobby Hamilton and Dana Racing have a New 'Vision' for 1999
29 April 1999
Lebanon, Tenn. - In a day and age when most of the firsts in motorsports happen on the NASCAR Winston Cup Series it is refreshing when two automotive giants come together to introduce a new Vision into NASCAR's Craftsman Truck Series.Mack Trucks Inc. of Allentown Pennsylvania and Dana Corporation in Toledo, Ohio came together over the last six months to enter into a partnership that will provide Bobby Hamilton Racing and the #18 Dana Dodge truck team with the premiere over the road semi rig being produced today. It is the Vision by Mack.
"We are very happy to have the opportunity to have our NASCAR Truck team's trailer pulled by the Mack Vision, and the fact that it is the only one on the road right now makes it even better," said Armedee Nadeau, Manager of Dana Motorsports. "We are always excited when we're able to enhance our program with the addition of such a outstanding product as the Mack Vision."
The Vision by Mack with its sleek aerodynamic styling and overwhelming interior comforts was designed from the ground up to give big rig drivers the power, handling, and comfort they want for every type or length of trip taken. With the E-Tech engine (built by Mack), a wrap-around dash, and user-friendly electronic instruments there is little doubt that the Dana Racing Vision is one of, if not the most impressive truck on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
"Being a new team and getting support from Dana Corporation and Mack Trucks, Inc. is great," said Andy Dunlap, General Manager of Bobby Hamilton Racing. "Having the Mack truck helped us because it took one of the worries of getting a team together out of the mix. When Armedee put the deal together for us to get the Mack Vision we knew we were getting the very best truck out there. Now when people see the Dana racing team going up and down the highway to the races we look very impressive."
The Vision by Mack is being built at Mack's Winnsboro South Carolina plant and will be on the show room floor in late April or early May 1999.
