NASCAR: Mattei Motorsports hits the web
3 April 1999
HARRISBURG, N.C. - The Mattei Motorsports shop is still at 6007 Victory Lane in Harrisburg, N.C., but the team now has a new home on the Internet at www.matteimotorsports.com.The team recently enlisted the services of High Performance Marketing, Incorporated, a motorsports marketing and graphic design firm located in Klamath Falls, Ore. The result is a detailed, fan-friendly website loaded with information. The site features facts and figures about every aspect of the team, including insight into the Mattei family, Michael Waltrip and the No. 7 Philips Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
"We are very excited about working with Mattei Motorsports on our first Winston Cup level website project," said Brian Graham, who heads up the project on behalf of High Performance Marketing. "NASCAR fans have high expectations on a project like this and we look forward to meeting the challenge of continuing to expand and enhance the site as technology changes and improves."
One of the biggest drawing cards on the site is "Front Page News," featuring Waltrip's thoughts on each of the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series events. His comments appear before and after each race, giving fans an in-depth look at the expectations of the Owensboro, Kentucky-driver.
Another popular page on the site is the photo gallery, providing fans with images from many of the events on the 1999 schedule. Many of the images come from deep within the confines of the Winston Cup garage area, giving fans their own "all-access" pass through the site.
Other enhancements are already planned for the site, including an online gift shop, allowing fans to purchase their favorite Philips Racing Team merchandise.
