Brazilian Racing News: Orsi Leads Sudam F-3

23 March 1999

After the two first rounds of the Sudam F-3 Championship in Cascavel,
Mato Grosso driver Hoover Orsi leads the championship with 35 points.

Orsi came back to Brazil after his sponsors left him after the brazilian
economical crisis. and he didnt had the budget to run in Great Britain.

Now, racing for Cesário Formula and with the support and money of his
family, Orsi showed that he really has the talent. He won the first race
on saturday, after starting 4th on the grid and taking the lead after
leader Ricardo Sperafico (Amir Nasr Racing) spun. At the end of the
race, he was far away from second Leonardo Nienkotter and third place
Rodrigo Sperafico.

On sunday, pole man Duda Pamplona started better and just lost one
position, to rookie Hoover Orsi. Orsi soon had problems with his wing
that was loose and his car had great understeering. Pamplona, after
driving 29 laps in Orsi's slipstream, finally got through and lead the
race until the end. Orsi, even being 2 seconds a lap slower, arrived
second, followed by Leonardo Nienkotter, Ricardo Sperafico.

In the championship Orsi leads with 35 points, followed by Leonardo
Nienkotter (Prop Car) with 27 points and in third are Duda Pamplona and
Rodrigo Sperafico with 20 points.
