NASCAR WCUP: Primestar 500 Nears Sell-Out

FORT WORTH-DALLAS-- Although grandstand seats for the PRIMESTAR 500 are scarce, fans can still get a frontstretch view by purchasing a luxury suite ticket for the March 28 NASCAR Winston Cup event.

"Were all but sold out in the grandstands," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "We only have a few dozen seats scattered throughout the temporary grandstands. However, hundreds of race fans have already discovered they can still have one of the best seats in the house by purchasing a luxury suite ticket. They get a great seat for the race and lunch for less than they can buy a seat from some of the local ticket brokers."

The crowd for the PRIMESTAR 500 is expected to be one of the largest ever for a Winston Cup event. The speedway added 4,800 permanent seats as part of The Speedway Club, as well as 12,199 temporary seats, bringing the seating capacity to 167,060 for the March 28 event.

"The fans are obviously ready for the return of NASCAR Winston Cup racing to Texas, "said PRIMESTAR CEO Carl Vogel. "Were very happy to be part of this exciting event."

Ticket sales for the Coca-Cola 300 also continue to be strong. The event will feature Winston Cup champ Jeff Gordon taking on 1998 Busch Series champion Dale Earnhardt, Jr. There are 21 other NASCAR drivers entered to qualify for the Coca-Cola 300 including Mark Martin, Jeff Burton, Ken Schrader, Kenny Irwin, Jr. and Terry and Bobby Labonte.

Suite tickets seats are available for the Saturday, March 27 Coca-Cola 300 and Sunday, March 28 PRIMESTAR 500. Saturday suite tickets are $225 -- Sunday suite seats are $325. Each include buffet lunch and soft drinks.
