NASCAR GDS: Scott Weaver/George Crenshaw Benefit Tournament

19 March 1999

[Kernersville, NC]-The Goody's Dash Series Families Auxiliary along with the Scott Weaver Fan Club is sponsoring a benefit 9 pin No Tap Tournament April 11, 1999 at 2:00pm at the AMF Shelby Lanes in Shelby, North Carolina. Scott is a well known driver in the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series. Scott was injured in an accident at Daytona International Speedway on February 12th of this year. Besides breaking his left leg in two places above the ankle, his knee cap was crushed. He also sustained two broken ribs along with a fractured neck. Also injured in the crash was George Crenshaw of Lakeland, Florida. George suffered a broken right tibia. Both drivers required emergency surgery. Scott had just started his own business in 1998 manufacturing race cars and spindles for the Dash Series. This is his only form of income. As an organization that was formed to help others in a time of need, we felt that having this benefit for Scott and George was the best way for all of us to express our concern and appreciation for them.
